Destined to become one of the greatest drag cars of all time, the '64 Thunderbolt was quite successful and earned the 1964 NHRA Manufacturer's Cup award. By shoehorning in the 427 big block engine and adding the immortal teardrop shaped hood, Ford also created one mean street machine! The '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt had a production of only 100 cars (59 automatics and 41 4-speeds) and is a super rare collector's item today.
