Description
The early part of Mark Donohue's successful racing career started in 1965 with a dark blue Mustang GT350R. His first step was to enlist the help of experienced crew chief and mechanic George Clark. Even in this early effort, Mark demonstrated his unique ability to analyze the performance of a race car and find ways to improve it. With the Mustang, it was his first opportunity to do pre-race testing and determine ways to improve the car's performance. He was able to make advancements that even the factory hadn't figured out. This combination of raw driving talent and engineering gave Mark his first championship by winning the B-Production class in the N.E. Division of the SCCA. During Mark Donohue's entire racing career, he was able to employ his talents of both race car driver and engineer. He was always able to find the "Unfair Advantage".This brought him not only the Trans-Am and Can-Am Championships; he also won the Indy 500 and Daytona 24 Hours.
