Description
The RAF's first jet-powered fighter.

Capable of speeds approaching 585 mph (941 km/h), the Gloster Meteor was the Allies' first operational jet in WWII. While it wasn't as aerodynamic as subsequent jets, the Meteor managed to outmaneuver its enemies with moderate success. No. 616 Squadron first received its Meteors in July 1944. By the following week, the squadron scored its first "kills" against two V-1 flying bombs. Kit features structured surfaces with engraved panel joints, a cockpit with instrument panel, a detailed undercarriage, fuel tanks, an alternate fuselage pod and decals for two RAF aircraft.
