Prized for its speed and reliability, the four-masted Pamir was built in 1905 for the F. Laeisz Hamburg shipyard. She was the last wind-powered cargo ship to circle Cape Horn in 1949. While en route to Hamburg in 1957, the Pamir sank in a hurricane, with only six survivors. Kit features a detailed deck with planking, a textured two-part hull, detailed deck superstructures, detailed masts with yards, two anchors, six life boats, 34 textured sails, rigging thread, ready-made shrouds, ships' bell and rudder, rails, a display stand, decals and a flag table.
