The aircraft that ushered in the "Jet Age."

First flown in 1944, the Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star was the first turbojet fighter used extensively by the U.S. Air Force. The F-80 variant was merely the Air Force's designation for various P-80 aircraft. Kit features a replica turbojet engine, the choice of an open or closed canopy, a detailed cockpit, optional pylon-mounted wing tanks and bombs, a pilot figure and detailed landing gear. Includes markings for: 1. "Lid-Do-Bee", F-80C-1-LO 49-610 Pilot, Lt. Col. Oliver Cellini 25th FIS, 51st FIW, October, 1950 and 2. F-80C-1-LO 49-481 Acrojets Demonstration Team, Williams AFB, Arizona,1949.
